Erik McDowell, a native New Yorker, began his career in New York City working on the stage and in the world of independent film. His first professional role was playing the late Adrienne Shelly’s fiancé in the film WRESTLING WITH ALLIGATORS alongside Joely Richardson and the legendary Claire Bloom. After starring in the award winning short, SO, WHAT DO YOU THINK? directed by Darren Goldberg, Erik left the Big Apple for Los Angeles.

Since relocating, he has guest-starred on an award nominated episode of CBS’s COLD CASE; has starred in Amanda Gusack’s award winning psychological thriller IN MEMORIAM, which premiered at the Hamptons International Film Festival; and starred in the IFC aired Si-fi thriller WIDE AWAKE IN NOTHING.

Erik may also be recognizable from his many national television commercials. In addition to his acting career, Erik has recently branched into development and producing having teamed with Marc Alexander of John Stamos’ St. Amos Productions.
